For 100 years, Royal Canberra Golf Club has been more than just a course - it’s been a place of tradition, community, and excellence. This film was created to celebrate the club’s centenary, capturing the stories, landscapes, and legacy that have shaped it into one of Australia’s most iconic golfing institutions. From early mornings on the fairways to the generations who have walked them, this piece is a tribute to the people and moments that define Royal Canberra.

A hundred years in the making

To mark Royal Canberra Golf Club’s centenary, we produced a short documentary bringing together former presidents, board members, club captains, course staff and long-standing members. The film traces the club from a modest nine-hole course near the city centre, to Acton on the banks of the Molonglo River, to Westbourne Woods as Lake Burley Griffin reshaped the capital.

More than a golf course

Beyond the championship fairways, we spoke with the Course Superintendent about the craft of maintaining a course of national significance, and with club captains about the friendships and traditions that define membership. Woven together with archival imagery, these first-hand memories preserve the connection between a place and the people who have shaped it across generations.
