The ACT’s community foundation

Hands Across Canberra is the ACT’s community foundation. For 13 years it has helped Canberrans give where they live: raising funds, investing them so they grow, and returning them to the community as grants. Its general fund supports around 350 local charities working with some of Canberra’s most vulnerable people.

Giving where you live

Beyond its grants, the foundation makes local giving simple, from one-off and workplace donations to named funds and giving circles, and it runs initiatives including the Chief Minister’s Charitable Fund and the Canberra Community Data Hub. Our brand film set out to capture that spirit: a community that looks after its own, and an organisation that turns everyday generosity into lasting change for the city.
